Nurses' Week 2023: Let’s Do Something Different - Pizza Isn’t Working

Teresa Sanderson, RN, CCM

Nurses' Week 2023 is around the corner, and it's time to do something different. Pizza parties are great, but they're not enough to address the challenges nurses face every day, such as burnout and negative work culture. Instead, let's prioritize the well-being of nurses and transform nursing culture and work environment. Join the Nurses Feed Their Young Movement's complimentary 3.0 contact hour nursing continuing education program, "Making Nurses Matter: Transforming Nursing Culture & Work Environment," and learn practical strategies to promote a positive work culture and improve your work environment. Together, let's make Nurses' Week 2023 a year to remember as the year we began to transform nursing culture and work environment for the better!

Nurses are the backbone of healthcare. They work tirelessly to care for their patients, but they also face many challenges, such as burnout and a negative work culture. That's why during Nurses' Week 2023, I propose we do something different. Let's transform nursing culture and work environment.

To make this change, the Nurses Feed Their Young Movement is offering a complimentary 3.0 contact hour nursing continuing education program. Titled "Making Nurses Matter: Transforming Nursing Culture & Work Environment." The no-cost program will provide nurses with practical strategies to promote a positive work culture and improve their work environment.

During the program, participants will learn about the importance of nursing culture and how it impacts patient outcomes. They will explore the role of nurse leaders in shaping the culture and gain strategies for promoting a positive work environment. The program will also cover essential skills for every nurse, such as resilience, emotional intelligence, and burnout prevention.

But why is this so important? Because when nurses have a positive work culture and environment, it not only benefits their own well-being but also leads to better patient outcomes. A positive work environment promotes teamwork, communication, and collaboration among healthcare professionals, which translates into better patient care.

This Nurses' Week, let's skip the pizza and make a difference. Let's prioritize the well-being of nurses and learn how we can transform nursing culture and work environment.
