In this article I'm sharing the five crucial steps that pave the way for offering enriching educational experiences to nurses. This simple guide will give you the information you need to move forward with the nursing continuing education application process and up-level your business!
Becoming a continuing education provider for nurses is a rewarding and important opportunity. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the five steps of what is included in a nursing continuing education provider application, so you can move forward in offering valuable educational opportunities to your target audience.

Step 1: The Application Process

The first step in becoming a continuing education provider is to complete the application process. You can find the application online and it's important to submit it during the correct window or deadline set by the state. Make sure to carefully review all of the requirements and guidelines before submitting your application.

Step 2: CNE Program Coordinator

One of the key requirements to becoming a continuing education provider is having a qualified CNE Program Coordinator. The Coordinator must have the appropriate educational and experiential credentials to manage the nursing CE program. This person does not necessarily have to be you, but it's important to find someone who meets the criteria set by the state.

Step 3: Prep Your Policies

Before submitting your application, it's essential to have your policies and procedures in place. Your organizational policies and procedures should be written to comply with state rules and statues and should clearly outline how you plan to manage your CE program and ensure compliance with state requirements.

Step 4: Your CE Offerings

This is where you can get creative and prepare 1-3 CE course offerings. Make sure your courses are relevant, informative and engaging for your target audience of nurses. I always recommend developing 1.0 contact hour course offerings to submit with your application.

Step 5: Ready, Set, Submit!

Before you submit your application, it's important to review it carefully and make sure it meets all of the state requirements. Once you've confirmed everything is in order, it's time to submit your application and wait for approval.

Summary

By following these five steps, you can become an approved continuing education provider for nurses and offer valuable educational opportunities to your target audience. With the right application, CNE Program Coordinator, policies, and course offerings, you can establish a successful nursing continuing education business.
